Abstract

UBe13 is a typical heavy-fermion superconductor compound. The energy band structure and the Fermi surface for UBe13 are calculated by the relativistic linear APW method. The Fermi surface is found to consist of two hole sheets and one electron sheet. These sheets of the Fermi surface are all small in size and closed in topology. The generalized gradient approximation is also applied to the energy-band calculation of UBe13. These results are compared with those of the conventional LDA calculation.
