Abstract

AbstractExperiments show that the optical absorption of electronic states in germanium dislocations has a pronounced polarization vector in the direction of the Burgers vector. It is concluded that electronic states split off from the energy bands arise due to the effect of stress near the dislocation lines. The calculated polarization vector of the optical transition coincides with the direction found in the experiment.
