Abstract

The capability to detect slipping is supplementary to functional electronic skin and electrospun Poly (Vinylidene Fluoride) (PVDF) nanofiber attracts attention from both research and industry areas due to its outstanding piezoelectricity. Herein, we designed and fabricated an electronic skin for slipping sensing based on electrospun PVDF nanofiber mat. The PVDF nanofiber mat fluctuates as an object contacts and slips upon it. Piezoelectric test shows the open circuit voltage consists of wave-like signal during the slipping, differently from the pressing motion. Moreover, the amplitude of the open circuit voltage of PVDF nanofiber mat increases with the slipping speed.
