Abstract

Room temperature electronic Raman scattering of Ce 3+-doped fluorozirconate fibres (ZBLAN) is reported. Optical spectra using cw laser excitation show one main band and broad structures at longer wavelengths with respect to the laser line. These bands are attributed to transitions from the ground state 2 F 5 2 to the excited multiplet 2 F 7 2 of the 4f 1 configuration of the Ce 3+-ion.
