Abstract

The electronic Raman continuum for high- T c cuprate superconductors has been a question, and the continuum should be explained on a new model, such as a two-band model. The formula for the electronic Raman response is derived on a two-band model, and the electronic Raman continuum observed in experiments is obtained from the formula, but the details of the continuum have to include other contributions, such as the interaction between the carriers and non-Fermi liquid. Moreover, we suggest that the interactions between the carriers and non-Fermi liquid dominate the properties of cuprates, and this is different from the old model in which the carriers have non-Fermi liquid behavior, have spin excitations, and dominate the superconductivity of cuprates.
