Abstract

Patient digital records, known as electronic health data (EHD), have security and privacy concerns in the existing Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare systems. These issues are attracting much attention and need to be resolved urgently. This article aims to introduce IoT-enabled watermarking, addressing the ownership conflicts, and data security concerns of the smart healthcare framework. Further, a comprehensive review of current studies related to IoT-based healthcare with watermarking techniques, along with their merits and limitations, is provided. The contributions of the reviewed approaches are then summarized and compared from different technical perspectives. Lastly, recent challenges, along with several directions for potential research, are detailed and commented on.
