Abstract
The application of Electronic Data Processing in food service management is an idea whose time has come. Applications and interest are spreading through hospitals, college and university food service departments, industrial feeding and fast food restaurants. Some of these applications are limited to simple matters of cost accounting or to control of activities at lower levels within the organization. Other food service operations are using the computer in more advanced systems. Food service information systems that provide information for management decision making are more valuable.
