Abstract
The Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model of polyacetylene is extended to include on-site and inter-site Hubbard-type electronic correlation effects. It is analysed in the continuum limit. The ground state properties are discussed within an effective single-particle (Hartree-Fock) Hamiltonian.
