Abstract

Electronic and ionic conductivities of liquid Cu–Se system have been measured as a function of concentration and temperature. The electronic conductivity, σ e , in the system shows a broad minimum near the composition Cu 2 Se and the ionic conductivity, σ i , has a maximum around this composition. In Se-rich region, a change from negative to positive temperature dependence of σ e and a discontinuous jump in σ i have been observed at a certain temperature. The relation between the electronic and ionic conductivities have quantitatively been discussed.
