Abstract
1. The absorption spectra of triplet exciplexes with localized excitation contain charge transfer bands, but these bands are not found for triplet exciplexes with complete charge transfer. This behavior is a consequence of the significant differences in the equilibrium conformations of such exciplexes. 2. The absorption spectra of polar triplet exciplexes of quinones with secondary aromatic amines feature a hypsochromic shift of the absorption band of the radical-anion part due to strong hydrogen bonding between the radical-ions within the exciplex.
