Abstract

Background and Aims: LDL(-) is a modified LDL found in the circulation. In monocytes, it induces an inflammatory response that is mediated by the complex CD14/TLR4. However, the role of LDL(-) in differentiated macrophages is not fully elucidated. We sought to determinate the release of inflammatory cytokines and the induction of cell differentiation by LDL(-) in macrophages, and the putative role of TLR4 in mediating these effects.
