Abstract

Under electron-beam irradiation in Heteroshape-heteroscale structure of silica-shelled Ga microball-nanotube, an abnormally large and fast expansion of liquid Ga was observed. The abnormal expansion was 4 to 9 times of a sole routine heating effect of electron-beam. Here it's pointed out that the abnormal expansion was due to the gallium atoms' ionization effect and retention effect for a number of electron retaining in the liquid Ga system under electron-beam irradiation.
