Abstract

We consider two models: a free superconducting nanoparticle and a superconducting nanoparticle with electron transport. We investigate how surface states influence on superconductivity and transport in nanoparticle when it is placed between normal metallic electrodes and when it is placed between superconducting electrodes. We show that superconducting properties and transport of a nanoparticle are different from those of a macroscopic sample owing to surface states.
