Abstract

In this article, various methods of calculation for the Coulomb logarithm in the kinetic theory of electron transfer are considered. It is assumed that the interaction of electrons with ions is described by the Debye potential with a screening constant, which is determined either with or without the contribution of the ionic component. In order to take into account ion–ion correlations, the Ornstein–Zernike integral equation in the hypernetted chain approximation is solved numerically. The behavior of the collision cross section of electrons with ions has been studied in detail on the basis of the phase shift method.
