Abstract

We report ESR measurements of Fe 3+ in Fe 1− x Ga x SbO 4 for 0⩽ × ⩽0.8. Between 200 and 640 K we correlate the temperature dependence of the ESR linewidth with the behavior of the static magnetic susceptibility. The increase of ΔH pp (∞) when the system is magnetically diluted through Ga substitution indicates the importance of spin diffusion processes in these materials. The possibility of low dimensional behavior is analyzed in terms of the cationic order proposed. Below about 200 K, a strong enhancement of the linewidth reflects the freezing of the magnetic moments.
