Abstract
The electron spin resonance (ESR) and electronic absorption spectra of Rh II in a single crystal of ZnWO4 have been recorded. Excited state energies determined from the electronic spectrum are used in an attempt to interpret the measured ESR g values. The orientation of the Rh II magnetic axes relative to the crystalline axes has been measured, and from the magnitude of the hyperfine splitting for 103Rh(I=½), determined along each each axis, values of P=2γββN〈r—3〉 and κ are calculated.
