Abstract

We present an experimental and theoretical study of mid infrared quantum cascade lasers submitted to a strong magnetic field along their growth direction. The emitted power shows strong oscillations as a function of the magnetic field, due to a modulation of the excite state lifetime. The analysis of these oscillations allows us to estimate the contribution of the elastic and inelastic scattering to the electron lifetime.
