Abstract

Electron scattering cross in open spherical quantum dot is calculated within the effective mass approximation and rectangular potential barriers model. It is shown that in nanosystem with the barrier width containing several mono shells, the experimentally measured scattering cross allows to identify well the resonance energies and widths of low energy electron quasistationary spectrum. It is established that for the open quantum dot with weak potential barrier the correct spectral parameters of quasistationary spectrum are the generalized resonance energies and widths.
