Abstract

1. Morphological changes in nickel hydroxide particles, which are formed during the entire process of precipitation from nickel nitrate in a solution of ammonia at constant pH, were described. 2. A transition of the amorphous phase to a crystalline phase was detected by x-ray diffraction study. 3. An analysis of the causes (change in the degree of supersaturation of the solutions with time depending; upon the pH and tendency to approach the equilibrium forms of the crystals according to the Gibbs-Wulf principle), responsible for the change in the form of the particles during the precipitation and aging of nickel hydroxide, was given.
