Abstract

Quartz-free plagioclases and myrmekite plagioclases from the same rock specimen are found to have almost the same composition, but the myrmekite plagioclases contain less potassium. Chemical analyses indicate an expulsion of sodium and calcium from potash feldspars. Myrmekites are believed to form by exsolution in the solid state.
