Abstract

A new type of electron-photon coincidence experiment is presented which utilizes stepwise electron and laser excitation of the target atoms. The technique has been applied to the measurement of atomic collision parameters for e/sup -/-Hg(6 /sup 1/P/sub 1/) collisions at an incident electron energy of 16.0 eV.
