Abstract

Electron impact excitation collision strengths for the ns 2 1 S - nsnp 1 P resonance transitions of highly ionized Be, Mg, and Zn-like ions have been computed in the distorted wave approximation, including the effects of exchange and target state correlation. Good agreement is observed between these data and collision strengths computed in the Coulomb-Born and Born approximations at high incident energies. Analytic fits to the distorted wave data are presented.
