Abstract
The authors applied the eikonal-Born series method to analyse the excitation of the 21S state of helium by electrons of energy E>100 eV. The EBS results are in good agreement with the experimental data over the entire range of scattering angles. In addition, a simple, but accurate wavefunction for the 21S state of helium has been constructed.
