Abstract

Electron impact double ionization cross-sections of Oxygen atom have been calculated using BEA. The theoretical data are compared with the experimental results. In case of Oxygen atom the electron impact double ionization cross-sections are calculated in the energy range 90–2000 eV. The theoretical results of the electron impact double ionization crosssections of Oxygen atom are in good agreement with experiment throughout the calculated impact energies. In the case of oxygen, experimental observations do not indicate any contributions from alternative channels (e.g. excitation auto-ionization, Auger emission) leading to the double ionization.
