Abstract

Among the KSTAR (Korean Superconducting Tokamak Research) tokamak operation scenarios, the electron heating and non-inductive current drive scenarios using fast wave and mode-converted ion Bernstein wave (IBW) are investigated over a large range of densities and temperatures. The indirect electron heating and current drive using ion Bernstein wave are compared with the direct electron heating and current drive using fast wave in the driven-currents and driven-current profiles in KSTAR plasma.
