Abstract

Experiments on depositing electrophoretic coatings consisting of ultra-disperse diamond (UDD) were performed on tips made from molybdenum, niobium, tungsten and tantalum wires. Tips were performed by electrochemical etching of wire. Emission properties of coated and uncoated tips were measured. Cathodes coated with UDD showed high emission stability and low noise and did not essentially degrade for a few hours.
