Abstract

The electron energy-loss spectrum of nitrous oxide has been studied for a range of experimental conditions. By employing low impact energies a number of triplet Rydberg series have been investigated and these converge on the four lowest ionization potentials of N 2O. At energies close to threshold evidence has been found for post-collision interaction (PCI) effects.
