Abstract

Reduction factors of electron-electron double resonance (ELDOR) for 2,5-di-tert-butyl- p-benzoquinone anions in isopropyl alcohol and ethanol were measured at various concentrations by the in-phase field-swept ELDOR technique. The dependence of the reduction factor R on concentration was well explained by the mechanism of Heisenberg spin exchange. The reductions at infinite pumping power were independent of the field-modulation frequency, as expected for Heisenberg exchange. The temperature dependence of R at low concentrations could be explained by the electron-nuclear dipolar interaction.
