Abstract

During annular solar eclipse of May 20,1966, over the Northern part of Africa and the Southern part of Europe, it was possible for the first time, to investigate the effect of an eclipse on the to tal electron content of the ionosphere, by using the satellite technique. KLOBUCHAR, WHITNEY (1964), HAWARD et al.(1964) also observed the effect of the eclipse on the total electron content by using the moon reflection technique.
