Abstract

Using the electron tunnelling model for the electron transfer process in slow collisions of multi-charged ions with neutral particles, the total electron capture in collisions of H2 with XZ+ (Z>or=4) is considered. Cross sections are calculated for X=Kr and Z=4-7 in the energy range 1-20 keV are compared with experimental data. The Z dependence of the cross sections is also discussed and a comparison is given with the available theoretical and experimental results.
