Abstract

Abstract: Welding of a refractory alloy with a light alloy was developed by using the electron beam process. The great difference in physical characteristics between the two materials called for special study of the joint preparation. The welding cycle developed takes account of problems of homogeneity of the weld pool. Very small three‐dimensional defects were detected by microfocus radiographic inspection.
