Abstract

Neutral-injection heating experiments are reported in which an ion temperature increase of 52% and a central electron temperature increase of 75% were observed. It is shown that the rise in electron temperature is consistent with the added neutral-injection power and that the heating occurs without an increase in impurity level in the plasma.
