Abstract

The exact Sagdeev’s pseudopotential is derived for electron-acoustic waves in a two electron temperature plasma (“cold” and “hot” electrons) in the presence of relativistic electron beam plasma using a vortex-like distribution for trapped electrons. It is found that the relativistic effect restricts the region of existence for solitary waves. It is also seen that different ordering in φ, the electric potential, yields different solitary wave solutions. It is also observed that a double layer solution exists even if one keeps terms up to order φ5/2.
