Abstract

Electron acceleration in the bubble regime has been investigated by considering the bubble shape as an ellipsoid. The equations of electron dynamics and energy are derived and solved numerically by applying initial conditions. The energy corresponding to each value of electric field for a particular electron velocity is calculated. The maximum value of electron energy which is 13.8 MeV is obtained at normalised electron velocity of β = 0.9. It is observed that electron energy increases with increase in electron velocity and electric field of the ellipsoid bubble.
