Abstract

1. To investigate the state of nerve-muscle excitability in 20 spontaneously hypertensive rats and 22 Wistar rats local electromyography was carried out in periods of rest and under the maximum strain of 10 min ischaemia of m.flexor femoris (Trusso's test). 2. The electromyography phenomenon found in the SHR group corresponds to typical tetany electromyography correlatives. 3. Thus, changes occur to the nerve-muscle excitability state according to the neurogenic tetany type.
