Abstract

Ferric acetylacetonate Fe(ac.ac) 3 was pressed in the form of tablets and polarized at 200 V/mm. The pyroelectric voltage was studied as a function of different temperatures. When the tablet was subjected to high frequency applied ac field, it exhibited a vibration in the thickness mode. It was also found that the mechanical stress decreased the electromechanical coupling factor of the transducer because of the damping effect of the domain wall motion. Fe(ac.ac) 3 transducer is very useful in technological applications such as ultrasonic wave and heat sensor.
