Abstract

AbstractWe first obtain solutions in terms of partial waves for scattering from an anisotropic impedance cylinder. The impedance boundary condition takes a very general form; n × (n × E) = Z n × H, where the elements of the impedance dyadic Z are arbitrary. Using these expression, we derive the scattering response of such a cylinder coated with a chiral medium for both the TE and TM polarizations of the incident wave. As we have used a generalized impedance dyadic Z, the solution presented here is very general and can accommodate a number of reductions. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
