Abstract

The fundamental challenge for microwave-absorbing honeycomb composites with grading coating thickness is the unsatisfactory absorption bandwidth. In this work, an effective equivalent permittivity prediction model was established based on the homogenization method, also both the result of calculations and simulation exhibit good consistency which indicates the validity of the model. Furthermore, in-depth analysis was done on the impact of structural factors like honeycomb height and coating thickness on single layer microwave absorption. Finally, both the microwave absorption properties and the electromagnetic response of grading honeycomb microwave absorbing composites were investigated which show a bright future in reducing electromagnetic wave irradiation and interference. The present work could provide a powerful theoretical basis for designing advanced grading honeycomb microwave absorbing composites.
