Abstract

In this paper proposed the hybrid excited partitioned stator switch flux (HE-PSSF) machine, in which armature winding placed on outer stator while field winding and permanent magnetic (PM) are housed in an inner stator. In proposed design the concentrated field winding replaced with toroidal winding and also reduce the PM volume up-to fifty percent and placed at the tip of teeth. The operating principle of the proposed design are introduced in detail. The HE-PSSF machine inherits feature of robust rotor structure and advantage of better space utilization. Furthermore, the analysis like the electromagnetic performances, flux linkage, back-EMF, cogging torque, flux regulation, average torque verses current density, and torque ripples are investigating by using 2-D finite element analysis.
