Abstract

In recent days, the researchers are focused on the study of magnetic energy harvesting around the current carrying conductor. Such type of energy harvesters uses to power the monitoring sensors mounted on the wires or grid systems. In this paper, an electromagnetic energy harvester is proposed which can provide power to a micropower sensor. The proposed energy harvester translates the AC magnetic field around the 8.5 A current carrying conductor into the constant DC voltage using AC to DC converter and voltage regulator. The design of energy harvester is such that, obtained DC voltage is appropriate to power a micropower temperature sensor at constant 5V DC supply.
