Abstract

This paper proposes a novel permanent magnet/reluctance composite rotor dual stator low speed synchronous motor (PMRCR-DSLSSM). The rotor of PMRCR-DSLSSM is composed of surface permanent magnet and synchronous reluctance. The motor not only separates the permanent magnet torque and reluctance torque, but also makes full use of the reluctance torque to maximize the output torque of the motor. Therefore, the composite rotor can be designed more flexibly, and it brings great convenience to the control of the motor. The electromagnetic performance of the motor is simulated and analyzed by finite element method (FEM). The results show that the torque ripple of the motor is reasonable, the torque density is improved compared with that of the permanent magnet motor with the same volume, and the motor performance meets the design requirements.
