Abstract
This paper presents an electromagnetic and motion-coupled analysis method for switched reluctance (SR) motors based on a reluctance network analysis. First, we construct a reluctance network model of a 6/4-pole SR motor considering both magnetic saturation at pole-tips and leakage fluxes from stator poles. Next, we combine the reluctance network model with a motor drive circuit and motion calculation circuits. Using the combined model, we can accurately and readily calculate dynamic characteristics of the 6/4-pole SR motor such as exciting voltages, phase currents, torque, etc. We indicate validity of the proposed method by comparing with experimental values.
