Abstract

Permanent magnet flux exchanging machine (PMFSM) with every single active part situated on the stator has a few appealing elements contrasted with customary induction machine because of its high torque and power density, better efficiency, simple and vigorous rotor structure, however, less were developed for downhole application due to harsh environmental conditions. In the past, a large portion of designed PMFSMs for downhole applications were mainly focused on inward rotor design, and hard to discover research work on external rotor design. Therefore, this paper presents the electromagnetic examination of PMFSM with outer rotor configuration for downhole application. Basically, the principle of operation is described briefly then the geometric topology of proposed configuration is portrayed in detail. Finally, the no-load and load examination are actualized keeping in mind the end goal to research the underlying performance of the proposed design.
