Abstract

Electroluminescent devices were fabricated using molecularly-doped polymer films. The devices consisted of aromatic diamine, TPD for hole transport molecules and an oxadiazole derivative, BND for electron transport molecules exhibited weak blue emission which was assumed to originate from exciplex of TPD and BND. Three component EL devices made of TPD, BND and a small amount of a coumarin dye as an emissive center were prepared, and intense green emission due to the coumarin dye was observed. Relative EL efficiencies in the three component EL devices were found to be highly dependent on TPD/BND molar ratios.
