Abstract

The effect of tryptic disaggregation on the electrophoretic mobilities of isolated chick liver cells was studied. It was found that the electrophoretic mobility of the cells decreased over the first 24 h and remained constant thereafter. Liver cells incubated with the dialysate of cytolysed labelled liver cells were associated with a much higher level of activity than the dialysate. The significance of these findings are discussed emphasizing the variability of effect of the tryptic disaggregation procedure.
