Abstract

We determine the current distribution and input impedance of a linear antenna in the form of an infinitesimally thin, perfectly conducting, narrow strip located perpendicular to an external static magnetic field at a plane interface between an isotropic medium and a magnetoplasma. The problem is reduced to a system of integral equations for the current on an infinitely long strip, which are solved in closed form in the case where the semi-infinite magnetoplasma occupying one half-space is resonant. Based on the results of this analysis, a simple approximate solution for the current distribution of a finite-length antenna of the same configuration is obtained.
