Abstract

The method of the productivity improvement of the manual arc welding is discussed. The aim of research is to establish the regularities of the influence of the amount of еxothermic mixture and coating thicknesses of the electrodes which ensure the intensification of their melting process. The amount of exothermic mixture and coating thickness of the electrodes on the technological characteristics (surfacing and melting indices; melting rate of the electrode and coating; the efficiency of heating of electrode and product) is experimentally studied. The effect of the performance improvement of the electrodes melting is established in the result of the exothermic reactions behaviour in the electrode coating when it is heated above1100°C. Also, the effect of increase of the arc heat energy is established. The research results can be used in the development of the welding electrodes of enhanced productivity. The set dependences of the indices of the electrodes melting on the amount of exothermic mixture and thickness of electrodes coating allow using the influence of the exothermic reaction effect on the increase of the productivity of the manual arc welding.
