Abstract

Mg-Ni-Al alloys were prepared in urea-acetamide-NaBr low temperature molten salts by electrodeposition method. Effects of electrodeposition parameters such as deposition temperature and time on the composition and microstructure of deposits were investigated. The results show that the content of Mg decreases with the increase of deposition temperature, while it increases first, and then decreases with prolonged deposition time. XRD results indicate that the deposits are composed of Mg-Cu, Mg-Al-Cu metallic compounds and Mg-Ni oxides.
