Abstract

Shiny, smooth and adherent deposits of gold-rhenium alloys containing 0.25 – 63.2 wt.% rhenium were electrodeposited from aqueous citrate solution. The effects of bath composition, pH, temperature, stirring, current density and pulsed current on the alloy composition, deposit appearance, current efficiency and microhardness were investigated. The X-ray structures of Au-Re alloy deposits are also reported.
