Abstract

In article number 2005456, Keun Hyung Lee, Kihyon Hong, and co-workers introduce a new concept of light-emitting transistors based on the principle of electrochemiluminescence. An ion-conductive solid-state ECL electrolyte is utilized in electrochemiluminescent transistors as a gate insulator for charge accumulation and light emission. Owing to the unique electrical and optical features of the electrochemiluminescent material, the devices exhibit not only excellent electrical properties, but also uniform light emission. This concept can be a new path toward advanced optoelectronic applications.
